RIDLEY COLLEGE CHARTER RUN

Saturday, September 20th 2014

In celebration of the 125th anniversary of the school, the first ever Ridley College Charter Run took place HomeComing Weekend on Saturday September 20th.

Ridley College has a deep-rooted connection with Wycliffe College.  It was at an organizational meeting in September, 1888 in the Principal's study at Wycliffe that a school for boys, to be named Bishop Ridley College, was founded.  The Charter Run commemorates the connection between the founders of the school and what Ridley is today.

45 Ridleians ran in 10 km relays from Wycliffe College to Ridley College. The symbolic finish of the Charter Run from the Marriott Gates to A Squad was run by Doug Court '53, his son Phil '85 and grandsons Luke '15, Ben '16 and Sam '17, with members ofthe school’s Harriers team, representing three generations of Ridleians.
